craniosacral therapy treatment

CranioSacral Therapy 2

 4 days Seminar

Description:

The course begins with the study of cranial base dysfunctions as perceived, diagnosed and treated by Dr William Sutherland, the father of cranial osteopathy.

You learn how to integrate Sutherland’s techniques into the “10-step protocol” and how to apply individual correction when needed.

Evaluation and treatment via the bones of the face and hard palate, the mandible and temporomandibular joint are presented and practised to complete the exploration of the masticatory system.

You can expect to take away with you skills to localise and correct motion distortions of the spheno-palatino-vomero-maxillary complex and restrictions of the teeth. You should be able to evaluate general vitality, motivation, emotional status and biochemical dysfunction using the craniosacral rhythm. You will have been shown how to adapt techniques for use with babies and young children, and introduced to the principles of facilitating SomatoEmotional Release®.

SomatoEmotional Release™ 2

4 days Seminar

Description:

In this workshop SomatoEmotional Release® techniques are integrated with various creative and dialoguing methods. With the emphasis on wholeness and self-healing, the goal is a comfortable, holistic mind-body approach to the resolution of problems and obstacles related to a person’s progress and growth.

The class begins with a practical review of the techniques for releasing the throat and hard palate taught in CST II and further developed in SER I. This encourages the expression and release of suppressed emotion, and is followed by an introduction to Psychosynthesis, Gestalt and Jungian psychology.

By blending concepts from three schools of psychology with SER and CST the therapist learns techniques to help the person increase awareness of their “innerself”. Class exercises are designed to strengthen the relationship between theconscious and non-conscious mind in order to increase self-awareness.

The SomatoEmotional Release® process requires extreme sensitivity on thepart of t he therapist and a positive attitude and trust from the patient/client. The SER 2 course gives you a greater insight into the person’s issues, and techniques to fine-tune your dialogue skills.

• The history, key concepts and therapeutic process of Psychosynthesis, Gestalt and Jungian psychology

• Practical application of the integration of Psychosynthesis, Gestalt and Jungian psychology with SomatoEmotional Release® and therapeuticimagery and dialogue

• Approaches to dreamwork

• Continued focus on craniosacral rhythm as significance detector

Preparation:

Successful completion of SomatoEmotional Release® I workshop. You should review SomatoEmotional Release and Beyond by Dr John Upledger and read Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher and William Ury. Dr Upledger recommends that you also read The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, and The Triumph of the Embryo by Lewis Wolpert.

SomatoEmotional Release™ 1

4 days Seminar

Description:

SomatoEmotional Release® is a therapeutic process that helps rid the mind and body of residual effects of trauma and associated negative emotional experiences, thereby supplementing the practice of CranioSacral Therapy, and advancing and expanding its usefulness. You will gain techniques for energy cyst and SomatoEmotional Release®. Such releases are often necessary to enable people to let go of the deepest cause of pain and illness. They enable application of Craniosacral Therapy to be utilised by the sufferer at deeper levels. By achieving improved listening and comprehension skills you will have increased understanding of verbal and non–verbal signals. This will be a means to encourage clients/patients to work co-operatively with you in improving health.

Elements:

• Introduction to, and historical review of energy cyst and SomatoEmotional Release® concepts

• Location and release of energy cysts

• Techniques for releasing the vocal apparatus, to aid expression and release of suppressed emotion

• Introduction to the idea and use of therapeutic imagery

• Principle and practise of dialogue

• Integration of imagery and dialogue techniques with the process of SomatoEmotional Release®

• Introduction to vector/axis integration and alignment

• Continued focus on craniosacral rhythm as Significance Detector (S.D.)

Preparation:

Successful completion of the CranioSacral Therapy II workshop.

You should review Dr Upledger’s textbook "CranioSacral Therapy II, Beyond the Dura" and read "SomatoEmotional Release and Beyond" also by Dr John Upledger.

CranioSacral Therapy 1 (CS1)

Few systems have as much impact on the human body as the craniosacral system.

The CranioSacral System protects and nourishes the brain and spinal cord - and affects nearly every aspect of central nervous system performance.

That's why CST is so critical to your healthcare practice. Developed after years of university research and testing, it allows you to release fascial restrictions anywhere on the body that may be impinging the craniosacral system and every other system it interacts with.

In this workshop you'll learn gentle techniques to normalize the craniosacral system and allow the body to self-correct. By unraveling pain and dysfunction at the source, you'll naturally help eliminate stress, strengthen resistance to disease, and enhance health in every dimension.

Course Highlights: By the end of this 4-day workshop you should be able to:

  • Describe the scientific foundation and principles of CranioSacral Therapy - and why it's the key to relieving pain and dysfunction at their source
  • Demonstrate finely tuned palpation skills you can rely on as highly sensitive and intuitive healthcare tools
  • Identify the subtle craniosacral rhythm and interpret its patterns to accurately evaluate dysfunction and improvements
  • Locate the source of physical problems by traveling through the fascial system, that complex web of tissue that impacts all body structures and systems
  • Release dural tube restrictions to enhance interactions between the central nervous system and the rest of the body
  • Use techniques that produce dramatic health and relaxation effects, including Direction of Energy and Still-Point Induction
  • Work with approaches to a number of common ailments such as TMJ dysfunction, head and neck pain, central nervous system disorders and many more
  • Put a simple, effective 10-Step Protocol into practice right away

If you have never experienced CST for yourself, it is recommended, but not required, that you have a session prior to class. This will help you gain valuable insights into how the technique works and what its effects are on the body. To find a CST practitioner in your area, go to www.iahp.com and Search for a Practitioner,  or contact with us.
